At the end of March, Four Seasons will no longer manage the Four Seasons Resort Carmelo. Considered the top resort in Uruguay, the property is located across the Rio de la Plata from Buenos Aires. It’s just a short ride by hydrofoil ferry to the town of Carmelo, which is surrounded by picturesque vineyards, grassy plains, and colonial buildings.
Four Seasons and Hotel Corporation of Uruguay S.A., the owner of the resort, made the announcement last month. The name of the new management company has not yet been released, but the property will continue to be operated as a luxury resort.
Accommodations are located within 20 bungalows and 24 luxury Bi-Level Suites—all equipped with terraces for outdoor living and dining. Full-service facilities include golf, tennis courts, two swimming pools, a kids club, and a large spa with signature treatments showcasing antioxidant-rich grape extracts from Uruguayan vineyards.
