Harrods-Branded Hotels to Open in Cities Around the World

Harrods, LondonFans of London’s famous department store will be thrilled to learn that Harrods will soon become a hotel brand. Qatar Holding LLC, which purchased Harrods in 2012 for 1.5 billion pounds, just announced their plans to build luxury hotels in key cities all across the globe-- preferably at sites already owned by Qatar Holding- including London (Chelsea Baracks), Paris, New York, and Kuala Lumpur.

Bloomberg reports that the group signed an agreement with Malaysian partners earlier this week to develop a hotel in Kuala Lumpur’s Bukit Bintang shopping district for $634 million. Also in development: a property in Sardinia, as Qatar Holding already owns four hotels in Costa Smeralda, along with a golf course and marina.
