Horse Racing in Chantilly, France with Auberge du Jeu de Paume

Auberge du Jeu de Paume, Chantilly, FraceNewly opened in September, the Auberge du Jeu de Paume is a luxury boutique hotel nestled on the 20,000-acre Chantilly estate about 25 minutes outside of Paris. (In the November issue's Paris article, advisor Colombe McCarthy recommends it as a nice option near the airport for clients flying out of Paris Charles de Gaulle.) The hotel’s surroundings couldn’t be finer: the Chantilly chateau is magnificent, and the town is the horse racing capital of France.

For the holiday season, the hotel has rolled out some Christmas menus- complete with the traditional Bûche de Noël for dessert- and the Domaine de Chantilly will be hosting a Christmas Equestrian Show.

In fact, horse racing takes place year-round with 300 races per year. (3000 thoroughbred horses are trained in the Domaine de Chantilly on an annual basis). Guests of the Auberge du Jeu de Paume are privy to insider access to this equestrian world; the hotel can arrange tours of the private training centers, VIP entrance to the Grands Prix, horseback riding lessons with professionals, polo matches, and carriage rides.
