If you’re headed to the French capital and looking for an exclusive experience, consider a new offering from Hôtel de Vendôme. For a limited time (through September 30), the boutique hotel is arranging sky-high views of France, courtesy of a hot-air balloon.
Guests are chauffeured to Maintenon (not far from the famous Chartres cathedral in the Eure-et-Loir department) for an hour-long hot-air balloon flight over the French countryside. In the evening, you’ll be treated to a gourmet picnic basket packed by chef Josselin Marie. This experience is part of an accommodations package that includes an overnight in a deluxe room with breakfast. From 1490€.
Built in 1723 by Pierre Perrin, Secretary to the Sun King, and once owned by the Vendôme family, the Hotel de Vendôme has a prestigious city-center location (1 Place Vendôme is next to the Ritz and top luxury shopping). A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the Hotel de Vendôme only has 29 rooms. For more information, visit www.hoteldevendome.com
