This month saw the debut of Sipsmith Gin Palace at The Langham London. The luxury hotel teamed up with Sipsmith, the artisan gin distillery, to launch a weekend soiree—recreating a glamorous Gin Palace of yesteryear (ie the 1800s) inside the hotel’s Palm Court venue. Taking place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings from 7 pm til midnight, the Gin Palace offers gin infusions and cocktails created by Sipsmith Master Distiller, Jared Brown, and The Langham's Head Mixologist Alex Kratena.
A word on the bar menu, which celebrates the history of gin: “Each cocktail will represent a different stage in the evolution of this British classic; from 1690 when gin was first born, to the invention of the first G&T in 1793 and finally arriving at the 21st century with the rise of molecular mixology.” This fun event couldn’t be more timely.
