Another week, another luxury hotel project being talked about in Croatia. Dubrovnik continues to soar in popularity as a tourist destination, and the Dalmatian coast will see another buzzed-about property opening in 2017. Karisma Hotels Adriatic is planning to debut a five-star resort in Plat, just outside the old town of the “Pearl of the Adriatic.”

Destroyed in the Homeland War, the Plat hotel complex was purchased by Karisma Hotels Adriatic at the beginning of last year for redevelopment. (Karisma Hotels Adriatic is a partnership between Mexico-based Karisma Resorts International, a hospitality management company with properties in Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Croatia and Serbia; Agrokor, the largest corporation in the Adriatic region; and TUI Travel, the world’s largest travel company.)

The Hotel Sensatori will have 550 rooms—including swim-up rooms, restaurants, fitness facilities, and spas. According to Total Croatia News, it will be “the most luxurious 5-star resort concept unlike anywhere else.”
