Le Cirque Opens at The Leela Palace

Already central to the haute cuisine scene in New York and Las Vegas, Le Cirque is taking its talents east to India. We hear that The Leela Palace New Delhi has debuted the first Asian outpost of the iconic American restaurant group.

The 144-seat restaurant sits on the 10th floor of the hotel and boasts an open kitchen with a Chef’s Table, a bar and lounge, alfresco seating and three dining rooms. Nice Touch: Like the American originals, India’s Le Cirque is decked out with photos of founder Sirio Maccioni rubbing elbows with the international elite (think Paris Hilton, Woody Allen, Bill Clinton and Pope John Paul II).

Enthusiasts will be delighted to see the menu complete with signature favorites such as Sirio’s Pasta Primavera, Mama Egi’s Ravioli, Tuna in Pistachio Crust, Paupiette of Black Cod, Crème Brûlée and Floating Island “Le Cirque.” Touch of India: A selection of vegetarian options has been added to the menu, as well.

Best of all for dedicated oenophiles: The extensive wine list includes over 80 Italian and 100 French wines.
