Watching the Winter Olympics may have you eager to hit the slopes yourself. One of the world’s best ski destinations is nestled beneath Mont Blanc in the French Alps. Megève-- the impossibly chic (and charming) alpine resort-- has a brand new five-star address this season which is already drawing all the French celebrities.
Called the M de Megève, the hotel exudes the traditional Savoyard style with a dash of contemporary cool. Designed as a mountain chalet with lots of exposed timber and stone, the hotel has 42 rooms and suites decorated with old leathers, textiles by Arpin, and fur throws.
There is a spa with a dedicated balneotherapy area (think counter-current swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, and hammam carved directly from the rocks). Cinq Mondes spa treatments are available.
