London Gears Up for Restaurant Festival

It's no secret that New York's restaurant week lasts much longer than a mere seven days. London doesn't even bother with the premise of a week. The annual London Restaurant Festival, which will run from October 3 to October 17, is a city-wide celebration of London restaurants and chefs.

    * Pop-Up In The Sky: The world's first six-Michelin-Star meal, cooked by London chefs Angela Hartnett, Jason Atherton, Claude Bosi, Pierre Koffmann and Marcus Wareing, and served on the London Eye
    * Scotch Egg Trail: Try some of London's best Scotch eggs and help judge which is the best
    * Festival Menus: The popular fixed-priced menus are a great way to sample food at restaurants across London
    * Gourmet Odyssey: Board a Routemaster bus for a gourmet trip around some of London's most exciting restaurants
    * Chewing The Fat: Guests including food critic AA Gill debate whether "there is no such thing as ethnic food"
    * Starter For Ten: The ultimate foodie quiz will really test your culinary knowledge
    * Eat Film: Enjoy a cocktail followed by a film and three-course dinner at the hip Soho Hotel, Covent Garden Hotel and Charlotte Street Hotel
    * What's For Lunch?: French, British and Asian chefs compete with their own interpretation of classic starters, mains and desserts
