London Symphony Orchestra to Perform in Trafalgar Square

Great news for music fans in London: The London Symphony Orchestra has announced that it will perform the first of three concerts at a stage on Trafalgar Square on Saturday May 12 at 6:30 p.m., according to city website Londonist.

The free concert will be conducted by the LSO’s Russian Principal Conductor, Valery Gergiev, and will include full works by Igor Stravinsky like The Rite of Spring and the Firebird Suite. Bonus: 150 children will be featured as part of the orchestra’s "LSO Discovery" education program.

The Trafalgar Square concert is slated for repeat in 2013 and 2014. Details for these future events will be announced at a later date.
