Sanctuary Retreats has announced a new 10-night Nile river cruise on the Sanctuary Sun Boat III from Cairo to Aswan. Departures begin August 19, 2012.
"This stretch of the Nile has not been open to visitors for decades and provides a unique opportunity to explore an astonishing third of the world's ancient monuments in Upper Egypt in just 10 days," said Katherine Gershon, Sanctuary Retreats sales and marketing director.
The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism has just re-opened the river route between Cairo and Luxor after a closure of 15 years.
Along their itinerary, guests will discover the rock tombs of Beni Hassan, the ruins of Tuna el-Gebel and the white limestone temple at Abydos.
The Sanctuary Sun Boat III is the line’s newest boat. Fashioned in a 1930s colonial chic style, it offers an intimate experience with just 18 cabins.
