It was in May 1972 when the Villa Magna first opened its doors on the Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid’s upscale Salamanca district. Since that day, it’s been a meeting point for high society. (The luxury suites are the favorite Madrid address for visiting celebs, like Brad Pitt, who threw a birthday party in the Real Suite.) The hotel’s restaurants and bars also draw a fashionable crowd. When the weather’s nice, the outside terrace is the place to be. For our first-hand hotel review, check out this article.
This month the luxury hotel is celebrating its 40th birthday with a few special offerings. At the Restaurant Villa Magna, the 40th anniversary menu highlights the greatest hits from 1972-2012: the best dishes starting from the days of Maxim’s and Chef Le Divellec. Available from May 10-31, 2012 between 8:30 - 11 pm. What’s more, guests can take a spin around town in a vintage Rolls Royce from the 1970’s: a two-hour ride complete with a chauffeur. This “Back to the 1970’s” adventure is part of the “Villa Magna Experience” offered during the month of May, which also includes accommodations in a Deluxe room, gourmet breakfast, a special anniversary cocktail in the bar, and the 40th anniversary dinner menu-- priced from 560 euros, with a minimum two night stay required.
The Hotel Villa Magna is located at 22 Paseo de la Castellana, next to the chic shopping quarter of Ortega y Gasset. For more information, visit www.villamagna.es.
