Nightlife in DC- Chef José Andrés Opens Barmini Tonight

Barmini by Chef Jose Andres, Washington DCIn more fun D.C. dining news, celebrity chef José Andrés is about to debut barmini, attached to his avant-garde restaurant, minibar. It’s a real looker- with creative touches (like a green wall and a Cerruti Baleri cactus couch) imagined by Barcelona-born industrial designer Juli Capella.

Andrés calls barmini his “cocktail lab for all restaurants and projects,” where “chef-driven libations” will “pay homage to the golden era of cocktails and forgotten techniques.” Just like the experimental haute cuisine prepared in the resto next door, barmini will showcase innovative remakes of classic drinks and ingredients. Because it only serves 30 patrons at a time, reservations are essential (202-393-4451). Daily Candy rates it “M for mind-blowing.” Looks like the craze for cocktail culture is not just a fleeting trend…

Barmini's address is 855 E Street Northwest, at 9th Street. For more information, visit minibarbyjoseandres.com.
