Get ready, The Palm House is preparing for a January opening in Palm Beach. The property, which has long been shuttered, will mark the U.S. debut for London-based L+R Hotels’ Iconic Luxury Hotels collection. We hear there are 79 large guestrooms and a two-story Presidential Suite with an Alaskan King bed, being touted as the largest hotel bed in Palm Beach. (There are also private balconies overlooking the pool.) The Palm Bar, with coral Murano-glass chandeliers and pink marble bar, is an absolute guarantee to bring in Palm Beach’s local chic set; they might also opt for the Sunset Pool Deck, which will feature cabana beds, poolside service and hourly Evian spritzes. The main restaurant will be the Palm House Dining Room, with indoor and outdoor seating.

Also new on the scene: Reservations are opening for the Beach Club at the Boca Raton in December, a substantial investment in the iconic resort in Palm Beach County. The new space comes at the cost of $120 million, which was well spent on new restaurants, a cocktail lounge and café, new fitness facility, oceanside event spaces, and a redo of the club’s 210 guestrooms and suites. Nice Touch: Among the elevated in-room amenities, a wet bar with water filtration system will invite guests to stay hydrated on the go.

We love that the Beach Club will triple its quantity of suites, including the Grand Suite + Lanai that has one- and two-bedroom options that have private outdoor poolside living spaces.

This latest project is the second phase of The Boca Raton’s overall $375 million transformation. The first phase was completed in early 2023, which redesigned Harborside’s Tower hotel and 12 restaurants and lounges. A four-acre Harborside Pool Club was added and the original Cloister hotel, which opened in 1926 as The Ritz-Carlton Cloister Inn, was upgraded.

Its fan-favorite dining outlet, Marisol, will see a newly designed indoor-outdoor setting serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner just steps from the ocean, but we’re excited about what goes on after dinner. That’s when Marisol’s bar turns into a social setting with a curated cocktail menu. Nice!

Beach Club guests have access to three pools and the Cabana Club, a collection of pool cabanas designed in partnership with St. Tropez swimwear brand Vilebrequin. Kids get to spend time at Banyan Bunch Beachside, a dedicated children’s program.

Boca Raton’s Beach Club was awarded a Five-Star rating by the Forbes Travel Guide 2023.

In the meantime, The Boca Raton has announced that tickets are now live for its first Artisans of Wine & Food weekend, taking place January 17-19, 2025. The event was developed in partnership with Napa Valley Vintners who will bring together more than 75 winemakers, 20-plus celebrated and Michelin-starred chefs, and immersive programming with fine wine and food. Tickets cost $2,950 per person.

Watch for investments at another iconic Palm Beach County icon.

Larry Ellison has acquired the Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa, a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection. Ellison, a co-founder of software company Oracle, “aims to preserve the resort’s legacy of excellence, uphold its values, and maintain its Five-Star rankings.” He also says the current team of hoteliers will remain on staff, to ensure a smooth transition and continuity in operations.

We’re pretty sure the resort is in good hands, since Ellison is a neighbor; he owns the largest residential estate in Manalapan, where Eau Palm Beach (a former Ritz-Carlton), is located, according to The Palm Beach Post. He also knows hotels. His hospitality portfolio also includes Four Seasons Resort Lanai, Sensei Lanai, Nobu Ryokan Malibu, Nobu Hotel Palo Alto, Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe and Sensei Porcupine Creek.

Moves are already in motion: Nobu Manalapan, a “preview” dining experience helmed by Nobu Restaurant Group and globally known Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, will debut October 18. Taking over the resort’s Bokēn and Stir Bar & Terrace spaces, the preview will include the famous Nobu menu, known for its unique take on traditional Japanese cuisine with contemporary Peruvian ingredients alongside Nobu cocktails (think Matsuhisa Martini, Nobo Soju Cocktail, and Pisco Sour Nobu Style).

The Nobu Manalapan preview at Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa will be open for dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and from 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday with patio, bar and dining room seating. Reservations will be available closer to opening on October 18.

When Pizza Is All that Matters

We all love great food when we travel, and pizza almost always fits into this category. So, for a taste of the simple good stuff, we suggest the following for Palm Beach County pizza hideaways:

Elisabetta’s Ristorante  Elisabetta’s has an extensive traditional Italian menu, with lots of unique pizzas. Customers who enjoy a savory-sweet combination should try the Rossa Ricotta, made with San Marzano sauce, house made ricotta, fresh basil, Calabrian oregano and hot honey. Elisabetta’s also offers classics like the Margherita and Pepperoni. Elisabetta’s is located at 32 E. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach; and 185 Banyan Blvd., West Palm Beach. For more information, call 561- 560-6699 (Delray Beach) or 561-342-6699 (West Palm Beach) or visit elisabettas.com

Costa Costa’s dinner menu includes two flatbread pizzas: The Rustic Fig Flatbread is a customer-favorite, with a garlic olive oil crust, fig jam and Montrachet Chèvre, topped with arugula and caramelized onions, with an option to add prosciutto. The Romesco Flatbread with Romesco sauce, Gratitude Farms mushrooms, whipped feta and fresh basil is another option. Costa is located at 502 E. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach. Galley at Hilton West Palm Beach Galley is a friendly and authentic grill house and bar, located at the Hilton West Palm Beach. For example, the Quattro Carne with soppressata, prosciutto, coppa, and finocchiona, is a meat lover’s heaven. Additional options include the Tartufo, topped with truffle mushroom sauce, fior di latte, cremini mushrooms, and basil and the New Jersey Spinach Pie, with fior di latte, ricotta, pecorino, spinach, and garlic. Insider Tip: Downtown Delray Beach’s popular Amar Mediterranean Bistro is relocating to 25 SE 6th Ave, just near its current location. The 4,500-square-foot space will offer additional seating, covered outdoor dining and a full bar. In place of Amar Bistro, Kurban Hospitality Group will introduce a new concept called Gesto, an artisanal pizza shop with a wood-burning oven.

A Guide to Palm Beach Nightlife

We suggest you start at Clematis Street in West Palm Beach, filled with historic buildings housing shops, bars, and clubs. Lynora’s is the place for wood-burning-oven pizza; chow down and then head upstairs to the Spazio speakeasy. Clematis Social is another option for upscale nightlife with pool tables and great music.

Delray Beach’s Atlantic Avenue, known as “The Ave,” is a pedestrian-friendly walkway lined with restaurants, coffee shops, and nightclubs. Don’t Miss: The Office for food and drinks, Park Tavern for craft cocktails, and City Oyster & Sushi Bar for seafood. Dancing can be had at the night away at Salt7, Honey, or Tin Roof. Feeling frisky? Head to Throw Social for games and cocktails.

In the north of the county, Jupiter Inlet has fancy mansions and beautiful vistas. The Woods is a high-end sports bar, while U-Tiki Beach serves fresh seafood with great waterfront views. Guanabanas is an open-air restaurant and bar with live music, and Square Grouper is a popular Tiki Bar with a scenic view of the Jupiter Lighthouse.

There’s nothing like a rooftop bar; we suggest Spruzzo and the Treehouse for views of the waterfront and the City of West Palm Beach, while Rosewater Rooftop in Delray Beach offers food, drinks and live music steps away from Atlantic Ave. Topside at The Beacon is another option.
