Paris Fashion House Opens Boutique in Hong Kong

Balmain Paris recently opened its first store in Hong Kong. The Paris-based luxury label previously sold its goods through multi-brand stores in Hong Kong, but its management set up an outlet on the back of the city's booming luxury retail market. The new store is located in Harbour City in the Tsim Sha Tsui tourist area.

Chairman of the Balmain Group Alain Hivelin said that Hong Kong's gateway position to mainland China prompted Balmain Paris to set up their store in the city. The location, he added, will help the company map out and implement its Asian marketing and distribution strategies, expanding its presence in China and other countries in the region.

The Parisian house of Balmain has been overseen by a series of designers since Pierre Balmain founded the historic house in 1945.
