Rocco Forte’s Hotel Savoy in Florence Unveils Renovation

Hotel Savoy, Florence

Traveling to Florence? Hotel Savoy, a Rocco Forte Hotel has just unveiled a renovation of all 14 suites and the lobby. Overseen by Olga Polizzi, director of design at Rocco Forte Hotels, the makeover reflects the hotel’s setting by paying homage to Florentine fashion and craftsmanship. Think Italian modernist tables in the suites, Italian fabrics in local patterns, and a statement trunk in the lobby—a classic example of true Tuscan tradition. In fact, all the décor in the lobby was made by top Italian furniture brands (like Cassina armchairs). The colorful artwork in the suites (paintings of shoes!) adds a playful touch.

Located on Piazza della Repubblic next to the Duomo, Hotel Savoy has 88 rooms and 14 suites—many of which have views on the Duomo or the Piazza. Top tip: the Brunelleschi and Signoria Suites have private steam rooms. There’s a gym, and in-room massages can be arranged by appointment. Irene, the Tuscan bistro, opened last year, and in warmer months, you can dine on the terrace and partake in people-watching on the Piazza.
