Shangri-La Debuts Third Hotel in Shanghai

There's a new kid in town in Shanghai. Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has opened its third luxury hotel in the city on the Huangpu River. Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai features 508 rooms and is part of the 4.8 million-square-foot Jing An Kerry Centre.

Art is the centerpiece of this Shangri-La hotel. Upon entering the lobby, guests are greeted by a 19x10-foot oil painting by Zeng Fanzhi. We hear the hotel's art collection includes 207 pieces by 50 artists. The collection includes sculptures, paintings, works on paper, photography, textile art and decorative objects.

Guests will love the four bars and restaurants at the hotel. For Chinese dining, look to Summer Palace. If it's a taste of home that you crave, The 1515 West, Chophouse & Bar will serve up steaks, signature drinks and desserts in a New York-style setting. The Cafe Liang is all-day dining and modern Japanese-inspired cuisine. Soon, a Mediterranean restaurant will join the ranks.
