Nestled in the Kitzbüheler Alps with direct access to the lifts of the Kitzbühel ski area, the property is currently undergoing a top-to-bottom renovation and will be unveiled as the Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol on December 7, 2011. Decorated in a luxurious alpine style, the 148 rooms will have panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. After the renovations, the 3,600 square meter spa will be equipped with both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The resort won’t just be for winter sports aficionados; Kitzbühel is also known for its great hiking, cycling, and golf courses. Top digs: The Penthouse Suite (pictured) featuring four bedrooms and baths, five flat-screen TVs, and a spacious terrace.
