Smooth Sailing with New York's Kimberly Hotel

It may be getting chilly now, but we have something that is going to make you sing for Spring. A few months back (yes, we are very late on this update!) Luxury Travel Advisor was invited to check out the newest offering from New York's Kimberly Hotel: a yacht cruise around Manhattan.

From the month of May through September, guests of the Kimberly Hotel can enjoy either a sunset or Sunday brunch cruise along the East River aboard the 75-foot Kimberly Yacht, owned by the New York Health and Racquet Club.

We boarded the yacht at Skyport Marina, on East 23rd Street and the FDR, headed up to the rooftop bar of the boat and settled in with a cocktail ready to enjoy our cruise. Cool touch: The yacht cruise also features a spread of salads, sandwiches and desserts.

The Sunset Cruises sail Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The Wednesday boarding is at 6 p.m. and sails from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The Friday sailings (July and August only) board at 6 p.m. and sail from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Saturday boarding begins at 5:30 p.m. and sails from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Sunday Brunch cruises board 11:30 a.m. and sails from noon to 2 p.m.

The fee is $25 per person for hotel guests.

The hotel offers guests 188 guest rooms, which measure approximately 230 square feet in size. Top tip: Be sure to book your most VIP clients in one of the hotel's Luxury Suites, which offer 42-inch plasma televisions, enlarged marble bathrooms with jetted tubs, wet bars and private balconies.
