St. Barth’s Luxury Hotels, Villas Reopen to International Guests

A favorite island getaway for luxury jetsetters has just reopened its borders to international travelers: St. Barth’s. In an announcement made in late June by the island’s president, Bruno Magras, “life on the island has returned to normal” — all beaches, restaurants and boutiques are open as usual, without restrictions. Nautical activities are also available. The island is reportedly COVID-19-free.

For travelers who are seeking their own space, Le Barth Villa Rental is welcoming guests. Launched in November last year from the creators of Le Barthélemy Hotel & Spa, Le Barth Villa Rental has over 150 accommodations, ranging from two-bedroom cliffside cottages to ultra-contemporary six-bedroom homes with spacious living areas, gourmet kitchens and lap pools. Each villa comes with 24/7 concierge services, private roundtrip transfers between the airport or dock to the residence, at-home delivery of a rental car, daily delivered continental breakfast, daily housekeeping and a welcome amenities package upon arrival.

On October 28, Le Barthélemy Hotel & Spa will reopen with enhanced measures and amenities that emphasize privacy and personalization.

Advisors can contact Claire Hillau ([email protected]), director of sales and marketing, for both the villas and the hotel.

The Romana Villa at Eden Rock Villa Rental has five bedrooms and sleeps 10.

Another option is Eden Rock Villa Rental. All villas come complete with a personal butler and private villa chef, chauffeured arrival and departure transfers between the villa and the airport, around-the-clock concierge service (who can book a range of à la carte services like private yacht trips) and daily housekeeping.

The Eden Rock Beach Club will also reopen this summer, offering villa guests a spot to relax and enjoy a leisurely lunch. The Beach Bar will serve its popular chilled frosé. Eden Rock-St Barths, a member of the Oetker Collection, will reopen October 22, following a full restructuring and renovation after Hurricane Irma. Guests can expect new rooms, suites and villas, a new bar and restaurant concept.

For villa bookings, advisors can contact Anne Dentel ([email protected]), Eden Rock villa rental manager, and for hotel bookings, advisors can get in touch with Mareike Hermann ([email protected]), head of sales and reservations, Eden Rock-St Barths.

Further down the line, Le Guanahani will reopen in spring 2021 as a member of Rosewood Hotel & Resorts’ portfolio. The hotel has been closed since late 2017 due to the effects of Hurricanes Maria and Irma. Upon its debut, Rosewood Le Guanahani St. Barth will show off the complete renovation of all 66 guestrooms, suites and villas (many with new private pools). The property will also offer a range of updated amenities, including a beachfront dining concept and new pool, a Rosewood Explorers children’s club, fitness center, tennis court and Sense, A Rosewood Spa. The hotel is surrounded by two beaches, including a reef-protected lagoon, and is just a short distance from downtown.

The hotel will continue to operate under the leadership of managing director Martein van Wagenberg, who has managed the property for the past six years.

Note: Travelers arriving in St. Barth’s will be asked to provide a COVID-negative RT-PCT test performed within three days prior to departure. If it is impossible for you to get tested, you will be required to be tested for COVID-19 at the drive-through test center in Gustavia within 24 hours of arrival in St. Barth’s.

Getting there: San Juan Puerto Rico’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport is the best hub for American clients, as St. Martin’s Princess Juliana Airport is not yet open. Tradewind Aviation operates scheduled and private charter flights from San Juan to St. Barth’s, with a flying time of roughly 50 minutes.
