St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort Preps to Open in Abu Dhabi

St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi

The latest luxury hotel brand to make a splash on Saadiyat Island? St. Regis- which along with Mandarin Oriental, Monte-Carlo SBM, and Park Hyatt- is opening a full-service resort there. Abu Dhabi has grand ambitions to transform Saadiyat Island, billed as “a beautiful natural island just 20 minutes from Abu Dhabi International airport and 7 minutes from downtown Abu Dhabi,” into a world-class cultural destination, complete with outposts of the Guggenheim and Louvre museums.

The first St. Regis hotel in the Middle East will import the brand's signature St. Regis butler service, and the facilities will include a spa, Athletic Club, multiple pools, the Sandcastle Club for kids, and a ballroom for 1,500 guests. The guest rooms will face either the unspoiled sandy beach or the Gary Player-designed championship golf course at the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club.

Let the countdown begin. The official opening date for the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort is November 1, 2011.
