Tennis Star Andy Murray to Open Luxury Hotel in Scotland

Cromlix House Hotel, ScotlandU.S. Open Champion Andy Murray, ranked World No. 3, is branching out from tennis. As reported by CNN, Murray has closed the deal on the Cromlix House Hotel near his home town of Dunblane in Scotland, and will transform it into a small five-star hotel. Nestled on 50 acres with its own trout loch, the Victorian-era property will have just 15 luxurious rooms when it opens in 2014, just ahead of the 2014 Ryder Cup, hosted at Gleneagles nearby.

Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI) will handle the hotel’s daily operations. CNN points out the project will “provide a boost to the local economy, creating 40 new jobs and providing revenue for other businesses in the area.”
