May is the perfect time to visit Barcelona in northeastern Spain. It's not too warm (yet), the streets are ripe for exploring, and events catering to all different interests are taking place.
For example, comic fans will want to be in the city from May 3 through 6 for the 30th International Comicon (Salón del Comic) at Fira’s Montjuic exhibition center. One of Europe’s biggest comic festivals, last year’s edition saw more than 100,000 visitors and 143 exhibitors. The festival attracts leading comic artists, entertainers, and creative minds.
And how's this for the ultimate bachelorette party? Barcelona Bridal Week (Noviaespaña 2012) will run from May 11 through 13, featuring five days of bridal collections from local and international designers. This year’s event features 200 top-level brands from over 50 countries worldwide.
And for those who appreciate cutting-edge art, Swab International Contemporary Art Fair will bring together more than 70 galleries from all over the world from May 24 to 26. The event features works by younger, emerging, contemporary art stars dedicated to making the world better through contemporary art.
