Big news for Turkey's luxury hotel scene: Viceroy Hotel Group has been selected as the operator of the new Nef Bebeköy development in Istanbul. Viceroy Istanbul, a five-star urban resort, is scheduled to open in late 2013 and will be Viceroy Hotel Group’s first European property, and second hotel project in Turkey after the Viceroy Bodrum, which is currently under development and slated to open in 2014.
Spread across ten separate buildings and over 16 acres of land with 58 guest accommodations, we hear that the Viceroy Istanbul will have panoramic views of the Bosphorus, the strait that forms part of the boundary between Europe and Asia, and direct access to an outdoor garden and forest area.
The hotel will occupy the last large plot of undeveloped land in Bebeköy, and will have easy access to the entertainment and business hubs. Viceroy Istanbul is also close to Bebek, which has a popular marina on the Bosphorus, waterfront cafes, restaurants andshops. The area also has many fine museums and galleries.
