Zurich Launches Art in the Park Exhibit at Bar au Lac Hotel

Art fans in Switzerland this summer should be sure to check out Zürich's ninth "Art in the Park" outdoor exhibition, which will take place from June 10 through August 6 in the private park of the city's Baur au Lac hotel. The show is created and curated by Gigi Kracht, the wife of Andrea Kracht, the hotel's sixth-generation owner, in collaboration with Gallery Gmurzynska.

This year's theme looks at figurative abstraction, as interpreted by some top contemporary artists: Fernando Botero, Alexander Calder, Robert Indiana, Robert Klippel, Jani Leinone, Joan Miro, Tom Otterness, Marco Perego, Mel Ramos, George Rickey, Rotraut, Kenny Scharf and David Smith. Featured works of art will include Mel Ramos' life-sized sculpture of a woman emerging from a Snickers candy bar and a colorful "bridge" from Rotraut. David Smith's 'Primo Piano' (pictured).
