First Look: The Park Hyatt Vienna

Next June, Austria will get its first Hyatt Hotel when the Park Hyatt Vienna opens its doors right in the middle of Vienna. We say this will be a game-changer for both the brand and the city.

What makes it special? The hotel will be in a listed 100-year-old building that formerly served as the headquarters of Bank Austria Creditanstalt and forms part of Vienna’s First District, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The location is also not too shabby: It's in the new Golden Quarter at the square Am HOF. This area is one of the most exclusive shopping district in Vienna, just steps away from the fashion houses and boutiques of Kohlmarkt, and within easy walking distance of the city’s opera house, historic monuments and museums.

Inside, the guestrooms are reportedly some of the largest in the city. (We're excited about the 35 suites—stay tuned for more details as they emerge!) Dining options will include the historically restored restaurant ‘The Bank’, the ‘Lounge’ for afternoon tea, the ‘Living Room’ for a cocktail (we hear the lounge specializes in whisky and cigars), or the bar with its outdoor terrace (open in the summer) for a light lunch or snack

There will also be an Arany Spa and an indoor swimming pool for wellness options. Stay tuned for more details about what treatments will be featured and what other perks the spa will offer.

For business or social events, Park Hyatt Vienna will have more than 7,500 of premier meeting space for a range of occasions, from a boardroom meeting to a large cocktail reception. We say the ballroom (above) is worthy of a visit in its own right.
