Chef Anne-Sophie Pic Opens New Restaurant in Paris

Anne-Sophie PicOne of the hottest restaurant openings of the fall is La Dame de Pic, the first Paris restaurant from three-star chef Anne-Sophie Pic. (Indeed Pic is the only female chef in France awarded three Michelin stars.) The city’s venerable food critics have been quick on the scene; cookbook author Patricia Wells writes a poetic review on her blog about specific dishes: “…a regal, cloud-like presentation of warm Gillardeau oysters bathed in a frank and fragrant cream of cauliflower and jasmine, surprising as well as satisfying.”

Just steps from the Louvre museum (which recently debuted a spectacular architectural addition), the restaurant has three menus, each based on different perfumes. (In developing the concept, Pic teamed up with Philippe Bousseton, who creates fragrances for Takasogo. Guests actually sniff perfumes when choosing a menu—each built around three dishes and a dessert.)

La Dame de Pic-- which means “the Queen of Spades”-- is located at 20 rue du Louvre in the first arrondissement. For more information, visit ladamedepic.fr.
