The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Riviera Nayarit Visitors and Convention Bureau and DINE, the real estate developer of Punta Mita, have announced that the sixth annual American Express Punta Mita Gourmet and Golf Classic will take place January 28 - 31, 2016.
The four-day event will include a mix of both gastronomic and golf activities including the Punta Mita Cup, a two-day golf tournament played on Jack Nicklaus’ two signature courses, Bahia and Pacifico. The event will also feature food and wine offerings prepared by several renowned chefs including Daniel Ovadía, Thierry Blouet, Abraham Salum and Paola Carosella.
“In alliance with our partners in Punta Mita, the ‘VI Gourmet & Golf Classic’ will most certainly be our most successful edition to date as we continue to attract the best in gourmet and golf,” said Carl Emberson, general manager of The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort and creator of the event.
Last year’s American Express Gourmet and Golf Classic attracted over 500 participants and raised more than $55,000 for former professional golfer Lorena Ochoa’s foundation, which focuses on helping underprivileged children reach a “balanced life” through educational programs, sports, healthy living and self-esteem seminars.
Participants at the 2016 Punta Mita Cup event will have an opportunity to win a variety of prizes, with additional elements to include sunset sailing adventures and evening galas.
