Hotel Irvine Opens as "Lifestyle" Property in California's Orange County

After a major renovation, Hotel Irvine has opened as a lifestyle hotel in Orange County, California. We hear the look is "sleek," "vibrant" and "modern" to go with a new vibe that focuses on connectivity.

“The concept of lifestyle hotels has been around in places like Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and San Francisco, but it is new for the city of Irvine, located in Orange County,” Ralph Grippo, President of Irvine Company Resort Properties said in a statement.

Lifestyle?

Younger generations traveling for both business and pleasure are looking for "unique encounters, diverse experiences, cultural immersions and transformative moments," Grippo said, explaining the hotel's concept. Perks include Wi-Fi access, Chef’s Everyday Breakfast, 24-hour food service room delivery, transportation to and from John Wayne Airport, fitness activities and complimentary water in the guest room.

For dining, guests can choose from EATS Kitchen & Bar, a bar/lounge called Red Bar and a Marketplace where guests can grab a light breakfast (including fresh-squeezed juices) in the morning.

The EATS Kitchen & Bar menu serves American classics with a comfort food/gastro pub approach to each dish, created by local chef Jason Montelibano. The menu includes burgers, craft beers, wine flights and shared plates in a gastro-pub style.

At mid-day, Red Bar becomes a social hub with Wi-Fi connectivity and communal areas, including long sofas and small group seating. Happy Hour begins early and the mood shifts to a more energetic style of music and engagement. Bonus: Guests can head out to the patio to socialize around a fire pit.

The TV lounge, with its jumbo multi screen, will televise sporting events and the adjacent outdoor deck will offer live music and weekend DJs.

The hotel is in the heart of Irvine, surrounded by regional offices of Fortune 500, technology, automotive and other industries. For business travelers, the hotel has the largest ballroom in South Orange County. Good to know: The Irvine is set to expand its tech options next month with an interactive wall and updated work stations. Its Backyard will get a new 6,000 square foot Pavilion, an 8,000 square foot lawn, an upgraded Pool & Wet Bar, and Cabana Room. In the near future the Backyard will become an adult playground hosting a variety of public events in a wide-open outdoor venue.
