Hotel Van Zandt, a Kimpton hotel in Austin, Texas, is scheduled to open in late July. New York–based interior designer Mark Zeff and his team are leading the design efforts.
The project will include both hotel and restaurant design, and have highly stylized and customized décor and furnishings. Zeff says the city of Austin inspired the contemporary style, which mixes "culture with a great history of elegance and Texas gentry.”
Décor will include specially handpicked items found at some of the surrounding Texas Hill Country's antique vendors. The property will also display curated pieces, including installations of birds created from vintage records and specially-commissioned works in collaboration with the Van Zandt family.
Zeff is also working on several other hotel design projects, including the upcoming Virgin Hotel in Nashville, The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and Aquila Resort in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
