Andaz Costa Rica Resort Unveils Beachside Experiences

Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo has unveiled two new beachside offerings: Casa de Playa beach club and Meso restaurant. Both venues are accessible by a 10-minute complimentary boat ride and offer relaxation, entertainment and dining on the sands of Playa Nacascolo.

Casa de Playa, a multimillion-dollar investment, is located on Nacascolo Beach, one of the largest beaches on the waters of Culebra Bay. Upon entering the beach club by boat, guests are immersed in a Costa Rican oasis with a canopy of trees and an adjacent mangrove. They can also cool off in the 82-foot pool or relax in one of the plush loungers or cabanas while enjoying light bites and beverages.

Ideal for swimming, water sports and snorkeling, Nacascolo Beach is a favorite with returning resort guests and Peninsula Papagayo homeowners alike. Regular live DJs will set the vibe with a blend of contemporary electronic, jazz lounge and R&B music.

Meso showcases a “Mesoterranean” menu—Mediterranean cuisine blended with Mesoamerican influence. Led by Executive Sous Chef Bruno Alves, who also oversees the resort’s marquee restaurant Ostra, Meso offers dishes such as Surf and Turf Paella, Sicilian Crudo and Homemade Pasta with Sun-Dried Tomato Sauce. The dinner experience offers “feasts” that follow Mediterranean traditions of food shared among family and friends. The bar serves tropical interpretations of classic Mediterranean cocktails.

Designed by Cola Blanca interior design, the natural surfaces and earthy tones ensure a laid-back atmosphere throughout the space; guests can enjoy an al fresco atmosphere with sand-to-sky open-air windows, taking full advantage of pool and beach views. Meso can accommodate up to 90 diners and is available to resort guests and residents of Peninsula Papagayo.

Daytime transportation is available from the resort lobby for the shuttle to the Nature Center for a quick peek at The Explorers Research Center, followed by a swift golf cart ride through a protected mangrove teeming with wildlife or via a scenic 10-minute boat transfer from the resort’s beach below the main pool. Boat service is available from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., subject to weather conditions. Evening service after 5 p.m. is available from the resort lobby via shuttle.
