Autograph Collection Hotels is opening its third independent property: the Hotel Círculo Gran Vía.
Following the additions of Hotel Palacio Del Retiro and Hotel Santo Mauro, the Círculo Gran Vía is a boutique, adults-only hotel located in Madrid, Spain. It was the former home of the Merchants and Industrialist’s Circle.
Named after its location, the hotel is located on the Gran Vía, a lively street filled with art nouveau and art deco facades. The hotel was originally built in the 1920s, and acted as a meeting place for intellectuals of the famous Bilis Club, a literary society “without rules, directive board or address.”
Muted colors, textured fabrics and aged wood are composed in the hotel’s design aesthetic, inspired by the building’s historic role as a gentleman’s club. Within the hotel is also a photographic art exhibition entitled “Memories of Gran Vía,” which is composed of 175 historic pictures displayed throughout the guestrooms and public areas. This exhibition is meant to offer a “fascinating perspective on Madrid in decades past.”
Two major highlights of the luxury hotel are the Casino Gran Vía and the Royal Hall. The hotel’s casino is the most famous in Madrid and offers traditional Baccarat, Poker and Black Jack tables as well as American Roulette, while the Royal Hall serves as the hotel’s living area where guests can relax, read and enjoy a drink.
Within the hotel, guests can also find the Círculo Mercantil restaurant, known for its fresh, seasonal cuisine and views of central Madrid, as well as the Champagne Bubble Bar or Círculo Cocktail Bar.
