Baglioni Hotel Luna Venice Reopens Following Renovations

Baglioni Hotel Luna, a five-star luxury property located in Venice, has reopened following major renovations. Part of the Baglioni Hotels & Resorts Collection, the hotel sits in a mansion that was once the seat of the Knights Templar, and is minutes away from St. Mark’s Square and the Doge’s Palace.

Baglioni Hotel Luna, the oldest hotel in the city, has its own art gallery, which has also been fully renovated. The restyling project throughout the property was overseen by Spagnulo & Partners, led by architect and interior designer Federico Spagnulo.

The ground-floor areas, including the entrance, lobby, reception, restaurant and bar, have been transformed. As part of the extensive renovation project a spa has been added to the property. It includes a sauna, Turkish bath, massage rooms and a relaxation area inspired by the Venetian aesthetic and embellished with classic textile panels, bronze glass inlays and smoked-glass mosaics.

Each of the hotel’s rooms provides lagoon views and the suite terraces overlook the cityscape and across the water to St. Marks, the Royal Gardens and San Giorgio Maggiore island. Guests opting for The San Giorgio Terrace Suite can enjoy uninterrupted vistas across the waters of St. Mark’s to San Giorgio isle.

The building’s historic relevance is intrinsically tied to Venice’s eclecticism and the "Floating City’s" cultural exchange with the East, which has been pivotal to the design process. The materials, fabrics and decor allude to a diversity of traditions, bridging the past and the present. The marble floors at the entrance, lobby area and in the Fireplace Lounge offer a Venetian experience, while the antique Murano glass chandelier complements the modern furnishings and design. All of the soft furnishing have been reinvigorated with classic textiles created by Rubelli.
