Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts Appoints New CEO

Banyan Tree Holdings, Ltd. has appointed Mr. Abid Butt as the new CEO of Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts. He has served as Area General Manager for the Banyan Tree Phuket, and was appointed first Vice President of Operations from 2000 – 2002, where he oversaw operations and branding for existing hotels and new properties. Most recently, Butt served as Vice President for Asset Management of Host Hotels & Resorts in the United States, where he was responsible a collection of 15 luxury hotels.

“I am delighted to return to the Banyan Tree family and participate in the company’s dynamic growth and development,” states Mr. Butt. “I will be focused on strategic initiatives for the 30 hotels in our current portfolio, along with the successful launch of future projects around the world.
