Acclaimed architect and interior designer Bill Bensley will host a small-group art workshop from September 15–17, 2023 at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort on Vietnam’s Son Tra Peninsula. Following a successful art weekend at InterContintenal Danang in March, he is back by popular demand and invites aspiring artists to join him for a weekend of immersion in all things art.
As a self-taught artist, Bensley considers his outsider status his superpower when it comes to unlocking talent in others. In this immersive three-day weekend, budding artists will be able to chat with Bensley and learn what inspires him, while also exploring diverse mediums such as watercolors, pastels, charcoal and more. His art is also a permanent part of the hotel’s Bensley Outsider Gallery.
Bensley will share his secrets, tips and techniques and help experienced artists to broaden their horizons in new directions. Guests can expect drawing and design sessions, gourmet meals, and a sketching trip to Hoi An with Bensley.
The weekend begins with a Friday cocktail reception, slideshow by Bensley on “Art that Inspires,” a Q&A session and dinner at Citron. Saturday begins with a leisurely breakfast, and a trip to Hoi An. After lunch and an art lesson with Bensley, participants will return to the resort for dinner. Sunday is “A Day of Masterpieces,” with an all-day art workshop in the Great Hall, leading up to a group exhibition, with feedback and reviews.
