It is that time of year, you know, when the snow birds head to Florida for the winter. And we don’t think that is a bad idea, as long as it includes posh fun at Boca Raton Resort & Club.

We suggest tennis players (and tennis novices alike) book the “Legends of Boca Experience,” a four-day package that allows guests to hang out and play some sets with tennis legend Jimmy Connors. Those who book the experience will get to spend a half-day with Connors himself, working on their serve or playing a round of golf (Connors’ other specialty). Also included is a sunset cruise, a private shopping outing, and couple’s massage.

The Boca Beach Club offers three swimming pools, private cabanas and a bar.

Tennis may not excite young travelers but we know what will, a morning at the resort’s surf school. The surf school is open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Private lessons are available and guests of all ages are welcome, so dad and mom can try it out with the kids. After a morning at surf school, the FlowRider, a wave simulator, located adjacent to the Tower Pool, will provide hours of bodyboarding fun.
