Casa del Agua immerses guests of all ages in locally inspired luxury. Particularly ideal for families, the beachfront villa is housed in the secure and gated community of Puerta Aventuras in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico. It has a private beach with ocean views, an infinity pool with a shallow end that is perfect for young children and water features that flow throughout the 5,000-square-foot home.

Created by a Mexican artist and a mecca for celebrities like Marc Anthony, Rihanna, Jared Leto, Paulina Rubio and David Hasselhoff, guests will immediately “get” the home’s native flair, from the 40-foot thatched roof to the hand-woven Mexican textiles and handmade furniture that can be found throughout. Chef Emilio can meet any dining challenge, including those of picky children who are enchanted by hot dogs cut into the shape of an octopus and gourmands with exacting culinary demands. Butler Roberto and his team are also on hand to fulfill any request, from specialty cocktails served poolside to setting up fishing trips and excursions to nearby sites of interest, such as Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Xcaret and Cozumel.

The villa underwent a renovation this fall that included the addition of a luxe ground-floor garden suite, thus creating a five-bedroom haven. The other four bedrooms are unique, from the first-floor bedroom with a round bed and bathroom that is infused with natural light and was formerly used as an artist’s studio, to a second-floor master suite with an additional daybed that is a great place for children to sleep and watch videos on the flat-screen TV. For large families and groups, the villa can be rented in conjunction with Zacil Na next door, which also underwent a refresh, boosting the potential accommodations to a total of 10 bedrooms.

The Casa del Agua renovation also included an update to the two-treatment-room, 450-square-foot onsite spa, where guests can indulge in massages and body wraps, facials and other skincare offerings. Travel advisors should reach out to Guest Arrival Concierge Supervisor Patti Mason ([email protected]) one month prior to client arrival to book services. The spacious bedrooms and ample 15,000 square feet of outdoor space are also ideal places for treatments. Other activities include enjoying the abundant sea life with provided snorkels and kayaks and use of a golf cart to zip to the nearby marina, site of shopping, bars and restaurants, and a family-focused swim-with-the-dolphins experience at Dolphin Discovery. Note that while the villa’s beach has soft white sand and a shaded palapa that’s the perfect place for kids to play. Note: The entrance to the water is a bit rocky, and villa-provided water shoes are recommended.

Casa del Agua is managed by Villas of Distinction, and a concierge will work directly with clients prior to arrival to ensure that all needs are met, including airport limo or helicopter transfers from nearby Cancun International Airport.
