Casa Formentera to Open in the Balearic Islands

Just a quick boat ride from Ibiza, the undeveloped island of Formentera is a tranquil, secluded hideaway of white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. While Ibiza has a reputation for a thrilling nightlife scene fueled by star international DJs, its sister island Formentera—the smallest of the Balearic islands, encompassing 32 square miles—is known for its preserved natural landscapes. And for those readers dreaming of a Mediterranean escape, this idyllic island will soon welcome a new beachside hotel called Casa Formentera. This design-centric property is a new departure for the Pacha Group, the Ibiza-based lifestyle and entertainment brand that operates club venues around the world.

Casa Formentera will be situated just a short walk from Platja Mitjorn, considered one of the best beaches in Europe. The ethos here is “barefoot luxury” in a natural setting, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. Drinking water will be distilled on site and the hotel will be plastic-free. What’s more, Casa Formentera will support environmental programs through the Ibiza and Formentera Preservation Foundation.

The 14 guestrooms will exude a stylish, minimalist design aesthetic with natural materials, polished concrete floors and a neutral palette. With views of the Mediterranean, the rooms will have cool design accents like African ceramics, tropical plants and rattan screens. The best part of all? Organic breakfasts will be delivered in baskets to your door every morning and aperitifs served on your terrace at sunset.

There will be a Mediterranean restaurant featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients and wellness services, including yoga sessions and massages on the rooftop. Last but not least, Casa Formentera will host cultural events and social happenings throughout the season like sunset rituals and music concerts.
