Castello di Vicarello in Tuscany Reopens With New Suites

Located in Tuscany’s coastal area of Maremma, Castello di Vicarello has reopened its doors for the season, accompanied by an array of developments and new guest experiences.

Ahead of this season, each suite at the 12th-century castle was restored. One highlight is the launch of Suite Mezzatore, its 10th suite. The new suite occupies the entire second floor of the castle’s tower, offering views of the main building and the 100-acre estate beyond. The suite sports Indonesian antiques, a copper bathtub and a yellow Sienese marble shower. The living room is furnished with oriental rugs and provides direct access to the castle’s terrace. Suite Mezzatore can also connect to Suite Torre via a staircase.

The kitchen serves as the gathering place for guests of the castle and the team at Castello di Vicarello follows the “farm to fork” philosophy, using produce from its organic garden. As part of a new three-day, all-inclusive package, guests can partake in a cooking class with the chef, creating authentic Italian and Tuscan dishes and enjoying a wine tasting session. Besides all meals, guests can enjoy two cocktails of their choice each night. A 50-minute massage is also included. Additionally, guests who book Suite Mezzatorre, Suite Torre, Suite Spa or Villa Chiesina receive a "surprise" four-course private dinner set up in a hidden corner of the castle.

Castello di Vicarello’s new al fresco gym allows guests to enjoy workouts in the castle’s gardens among centuries-old olive trees, overlooking the Maremma hills beyond. Guests can also opt for a 60-minute treatment with the on-site massage therapist, morning yoga by the marble infinity pool or a personalized training session. Guests can also enjoy an array of on-site and off-site experiences, including horseback riding, trekking, biking or e-biking tours, and more.

Looking to next year, Castello di Vicarello plans to open a new villa.
