The opening of Chablé Maroma, sister property of Chablé Resort just outside Merida, is slated for September 10, 2018 in Riviera Maya. Already a member of Leading Hotels of the World, the new resort is set between a lush topical jungle and white sand beach.
The beach resort will have 70 casitas dotted throughout the jungle, providing plenty of privacy for each. Additionally, the casitas are designed to immerse guests in nature, paying homage to the local Mayan heritage. Details include retractable glass walls, an indoor-outdoor rain shower, a private pool and an outdoor terrace; indoors, guests will find a neutral color palette, regional materials (think: tropical woods, stones and marble) and original designs by Mexican artists.
One of the highlights of Chablé Maroma will be its 17,000 square-foot spa, which will have eight massage rooms, a hot tub and steam bath. The spa’s treatment program also honors Mayan traditions of restoration, integrating cultural wellness wisdom with modern technology. The menu will include a selection of signature facials, messages and rituals.
The culinary program will be led by Mexican chef Jorge Vallejo. The resort will have three restaurants: Bu’ul, the resort’s signature dining venue, will showcase gourmet and contemporary Mexican cuisine; Raw Bar by Bu’ul will offer a selection of clams, oysters, prawns and more; and Kaban, a casual pool-side eatery, will serve a selection of Mexican and international bites. Chef Vallejo is behind Quintonil in Mexico City and the award-winning Ixi’im Restaurant at Chablé Resort.
Chablé Maroma’s finishing touches include a 650-foot private beach, oceanside yoga pavilion, seaside swimming pool, fitness center and several private cabanas along the shore. Guests can enjoy a variety of activities at leisure, including meditation classes, yoga, paddle boarding, kayaking, scuba diving, cultural adventures, jungle tours and more.
