Conrad Maldives Rangali Island Unveils New Look After Renovation

Conrad Maldives Rangali Island has unveiled its extensive renovation following a multi-year, multimillion dollar makeover. As part of its relaunch, guests of the twin-island resort can expect 50 refreshed overwater villas in Rangali Island; revamped Overwater Spa and new gym; elevated dining experiences with makeovers to three celebrated restaurants and bars; and a new teens’ club and enhanced kids’ club.

The 50 updated overwater villas on the Rangali Island side of the resort include new interiors. Guests can enjoy uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean and direct access to a private sun deck. Large mirrors have been used throughout to maximize light and reflect the scenery. Characterized by spaces that transition naturally from indoors to outdoors, the renovated villas feature new furnishings and appliances.

The new Overwater Spa at Conrad Maldives preserves the overall look and feel while offering refreshed reception and treatment areas alongside new indoor and outdoor relaxation spaces. It offers an immersive experience tailored to invigorate the mind, body and soul through practices such as soulful meditation and a range of therapies. In partnership with ISUN, Conrad Maldives’ Overwater Spa is offering a treatment consisting of 17 rituals.

Conrad Maldives roped in Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo to reinvent the spa. For the interiors, the resort partnered with New York-based architect Yuji Yamazaki, who designed the resort’s MURAKA residence—the world’s first underwater villa. A new and fully equipped gym will also be available at the adults-only island.

The renovated dining venues at the luxury resort include Atoll Market, an all-day dining buffet restaurant featuring live cooking stations; Rangali Bar, a relaxed social hub offering lunch, dinner or cocktails; and Vilu Restaurant at Rangali Island, an open-air outlet located on the edge of the lagoon.

The resort’s relaunch includes the debut of Furaavaru Club for teenagers, and Majaa Explorer’s Hub for children. These new spaces are located on the family- friendly Rangali-Finolhu Island.
