The Dolder Grand Teams up With Dr. Burgener Switzerland

(The Dolder Grand)

As far as destination spas goes, the 43,056-square-foot hideaway at The Dolder Grand in Zurich is a standout. Designed by Sylvia Sepielli (also behind the spas at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Mii Amo in Sedona, and the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa in California), the Dolder Spa has 18 treatment rooms and an elaborate Aqua Zone; think snow room, saunas, hammams, kotatsu footbaths and sunaburo loungers filled with heated black pebbles. The spa is overseen by director Therese Martirena.

Perched on a hill high above Zurich, The Dolder Grand first opened in 1899, then showed off a dramatic renovation in 2008 by London architects Foster and Partners. To mark the 10th anniversary of The Dolder Grand’s reopening, the hotel is luxing it up with an exclusive partnership with Dr. Burgener Switzerland. The renowned Swiss beauty brand has customized a range of products and treatments for the hotel’s spa clients. The results-oriented treatments include facials (like the “Derma Boost” and the “Honey Delicate Scrub”), massages, body scrubs (like “Hydraheaven”), and endermologie, in which mechanical skin stimulation reactivates cell metabolism.
