The Dorchester to Undergo Largest Renovation Since 1989

As part of an ongoing investment program, The Dorchester will commence a comprehensive renovation as of February 2022. The renovation, according to the London hotel, will be its largest since 1989 and will start with the entrance to the hotel, The Promenade and The Bar at The Dorchester, as well as two guest floors, with this work to be complete by September 2022.

ReardonSmith Architects are the architects and lead designer on the project to renovate The Dorchester. Pierre-Yves Rochon has been tasted with updating the hotel entrance, The Promenade and the new guestrooms and suites, while Martin Brudnizki Design Studio has been appointed to re-create the bar.

Good to know: The Dorchester will remain open for guests throughout this time with its afternoon tea continuing to be served in the Orchid Room and a refreshed concept for the rooftop restaurant to be launched in spring 2022. As The Grill, Alain Ducasse and China Tang completed refurbishments in the last few years, they will continue to remain open as normal, as will The Dorchester Spa. In addition, The Ballroom, with its own entrance on Park Lane, the Penthouse and Pavilion rooms, and the Chef’s Table will continue to be available for corporate and social events.

Further details about the renovation will be announced over the coming weeks.

In other Dorchester Collection news, 45 Park Lane in Mayfair launched a new spa in May. The 10,000-square-foot spa will be home to a 66-foot pool, as well as a personal training room and a spacious gym. Spa treatments will be by Valmont and Aromatherapy Associates. And, previously, in February, Dorchester Collection’s country house hotel and spa Coworth Park debuted a new three-bedroom standalone gatehouse cottage.
