Goldener Hirsch, Auberge Resorts Collection Names New GM

Goldener Hirsch, Auberge Resorts Collection in Deer Valley, Utah, has named Ekrem Tercanoglu as its general manager. Tercanoglu brings over three decades of luxury hospitality experience from leadership positions around the globe. Located steps away from the Deer Valley mountain's chairlift, which offers access to hiking trails and ski runs, the 18-room hotel recently unveiled a renovation and expansion, including 40 new residences and resort amenities designed by architect Tom Kundig.

“[Tercanoglu's] luxury hospitality expertise, management skills, determination and commitment to excellence have been key as Goldener Hirsch enters the anticipated summer season,” said John Volponi, area vice president, Auberge Resorts Collection. "Ekrem deeply understands our growing portfolio and his impressive resume casts him as the perfect fit for the world-class destination of Deer Valley.”

Tercanoglu began his career as assistant manager at Boca Raton Resort and Club in Florida and later moved to the role of director of restaurants at Four Seasons Ocean Grand Hotel in Palm Beach. Over the following two decades, he worked with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in various leading F&B positions in Los Angeles, Lanai and Cairo, while also co-owning and managing the Metronome Grand Brasserie in Palm Beach. In 2019, he was named resort manager at Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection in Hawaii and, more recently, at Madeline Hotel & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection in Telluride, Colorado.

“I’m delighted to continue my journey with this exceptional brand at one of the most iconic mountain resorts in North America,” said Tercanoglu. “Goldener Hirsch’s legacy and recent transformation pins it as the ultimate luxury mountainside resort experience. I’m excited to work with the collaborative property and brand teams to elevate the hotel to its highest potential with year-round guest experiences, wellness and renowned culinary offerings in Deer Valley’s most ideal location.”

Tercanoglu’s strengths include assembling and leading teams while encouraging a positive environment and healthy challenges. He can operate diverse teams at both strategic and tactical levels and combine a high level of attention to detail with an ability to execute strategic priorities.
