A highlight of a safari trip to Kenya is exploring the Loisaba Conservancy in Laikipia County in the north. Purchased by the Nature Conservancy in 2015, the 56,000-acre conservancy supports high concentrations of wildlife and is an important corridor for Kenya’s second largest population of elephants. It’s also hailed as a successful model for sustainable wildlife conservation because of its important work with the neighboring communities, reducing land use conflict. It’s here where the Elewana Collection operates the Loisaba Star Beds (gape at the night sky from a custom bed rolled out onto your deck) and luxurious Loisaba Tented Camp (soak in the clifftop infinity pool while gazing across the plains to Mount Kenya). Recently Loisaba Tented Camp unveiled a running/trekking track to add to its recreational offerings.
In big news from the Elewana Collection, the hospitality company will soon unveil a third complementary property in the Loisaba Conservancy called Elewana Lodo Springs. Slated to open in June 2019, the lodge will have eight large tented rooms, ensuring an ultra-private safari experience for guests. Elewana Lodo Springs was designed by architects Chris Payne and Jan Allen, while the landscaping was overseen by Jo Silvester. The lodge is positioned to take advantage of the sweeping views—a wide expanse stretching to Mount Kenya. Each tent will be serviced by an Elewana Guest Ambassador, and guests will also have a dedicated safari vehicle, drive and field guide during their stay.
With the debut of Elewana Lodo Springs, Elewana’s portfolio will increase to a total of 16 luxury camps, lodges and boutique beach hotels in Kenya and Tanzania (including Zanzibar).
