Located high above the Las Vegas Strip, Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas transports Mandarin Bar guests to the decadence of 1930s Shanghai for the new weekly party, Shanghai Nights. Replicating the popular city when it was known as the “Vegas of Asia,” the Shanghai-inspired tastes, cocktails and atmosphere will transform the Mandarin Bar every Tuesday night starting September 10.

Mandarin Bar’s Shanghai Nights will mirror an Asian-style speakeasy with era décor including adorning Oriental lanterns, dramatic red hue lighting, intimate seating and other elaborate touches. While appreciating Mandarin Bar’s views from the 23rd floor, guests also will enjoy the sounds of live jazz and contemporary music from the Shaun DeGraff Trio.

Las Vegas’ executive chef, David Werly, helped create special menus of small bites and cocktails reminiscent of the glamorous Shanghai scene. The specialty drinks echo past times, including the Barrel down the Bund where gin is the star, and the French Concession which has a European feel combined with Chinese flavors to showcase both cultures blending together post-war. Included on the menu are sushi including the Rice Pepper Roll with Alaskan King Crab and Jelly Fish, as well as a Shanghai Dim Sum selection.
