In Florence, Hotel Savoy Unveils the Duomo Presidential Suite

Earlier this year, the Hotel Savoy, a Rocco Forte Hotel in Florence showed off the glittering results of a renovation project. The luxury hotel closed its doors in fall 2018 for a makeover by Olga Polizzi, director of design for Rocco Forte Hotels. The room inventory was reduced from 102 to 80 guest rooms, and bespoke decor was commissioned from local artisans (like mirrors from Chelini Firenze’s workshop). Hot on the heels of this redesign, the Hotel Savoy has unveiled a collection of glamorous new suites: the Duomo Presidential Suite, the Panoramic Suite, and four Grand View Suites. Here’s the skinny.

Occupying its own wing and measuring 152 square meters (1,636 square feet), the Duomo Presidential Suite is one of the largest suites offered by Rocco Forte Hotels. Flooded with natural light, the suite is done up in turquoise tones and has stunning views of the Duomo and Giotto’s Campanile. Situated on the fifth floor, the two-story Panoramic Suite comes with a private terrace offering 180-degree views of Florence. The bedroom also has views on the Duomo. The four Grand View Suites— each dedicated to a season, a nod to the Putti Quattro Stagioni “Four Seasons” sculptures in the Lobby— have views over Piazza della Repubblica.

Top tip: Guests who book these suites can choose from a host of complimentary Rocco Forte Suite Experiences. Think private art lesson, Tuscan wine tasting, personalized Perfume  Experience at a Florentine workshop, fashion tour, or a private tour of the Opera del Duomo Museum.
