Four Seasons Hotel Megève Debuts in the French Alps

It’s here. After much anticipation, the Four Seasons Hotel Megève has officially opened its doors in the glorious alpine playground of Megève. As we’ve previously reported, this new property is a partnership between Four Seasons and Edmond de Rothschild Heritage, a lifestyle company owned by Benjamin and Ariane de Rothschild. Historically the de Rothschild family were key figures in creating Mégève as a sought-after luxury ski destination (Noémie de Rothschild first opened the now legendary Domaine du Mont d’Arbois in the 1920s).

The hotel has 55 rooms (including 14 suites), complete with fireplaces and balconies for taking in the mountain views.

Some of the world’s finest skiing is at your doorstep. This is the only hotel situated directly on the slopes of Mont d’Arbois, with access to more than 277 miles of skiing. There’s an in-house Ski Valet and Ski Concierge, and for adrenaline hounds, the Four Seasons also arranges Helicopter Ski Safaris. Other popular winter activities include sleigh rides, ice fall climbing and curling.

After a day on the powdery pistes, return to the Four Seasons Hotel Megève to relax in the region’s largest spa (Sodashi massage, anyone?) or take a dip in the indoor/outdoor swimming pool, equipped with massage jets and underwater music. There’s also a well-designed kids club to keep the younger generations entertained.

Fun for foodies: The Four Seasons Hotel Megève is the new home of Le 1920, a famous Michelin two-star restaurant overseen by Chef Julien Gatillon. Open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant also offers a terrace. Other F&B outlets include Kaito, serving fresh sushi and Japanese Pan-Asian fusion cuisine; the Bar Edmond, an après-ski destination; the Lobby Lounge for all-day dining; the Wine Cellar, stocked with 10,000 bottles, for private dinners and tastings; and the Cigar Room.

Good to know: Four Seasons Hotel Megève is open seasonally: winter, between December 15 and April 15, summer, from June 1 to September 30.
