Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia Appoints Cornelia Samara As GM

Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center has announced the appointment of Cornelia Samara as the general manager. Samara joins the team from Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club in Florida.

Born in Jerusalem as a German national with Palestinian roots, Samara grew up immersed in the hospitality industry. Her family owned a travel agency and led tours of the Holy Land in Jerusalem and from an early age she remembers traveling to the airport to greet arriving guests and going to dinners with tour groups.

A graduate of Hawaii Pacific University, the past 10 years of her career as general manager have been focused on flagship properties. In 2018, she joined Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club as general manager. In Philadelphia, she will oversee hundreds of hotel team members.

An art-lover, the vast collections found at the Barnes Foundation and Philadelphia Museum of Art drew her to the "City of Brotherly Love." Samara used to enjoy oil painting and pottery, but with time now tight, she says she enjoys experiencing art by going to museums and galleries often.

Samara has lived in or visited countries all over the world. One trip saw her circling the globe in a month with several stops in Southeast Asia, and she once spent a full year living in Singapore.

Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia is located between the building’s 48th and 60th stories, with each of the 180 rooms and 39 suites offering floor-to-ceiling views of the city. In partnership with Comcast, all guestrooms and suites have the X1 Video Experience, including approximately 300 channel options and a complimentary library of more than 50,000 movies and shows on demand, all searchable with the X1 voice remote.

There's additionally a spa with seven treatment rooms and a boutique on the 57th floor. Michelin-starred Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten made his Philadelphia debut at the hotel, operating the 59th-floor Jean-Georges Philadelphia restaurant and the 60th-floor JG SkyHigh cocktail bar.
