Kempinski Hotels to Debut in Mexico

Kempinski Hotels has announced that it will take over a luxurious beach hotel in Cancun on the Riviera Maya, Mexico starting September 2022. With no closure of operations, this property will undergo changes, following which it will be rebranded as Grand Hotel Cancun, managed by Kempinski during the three-month transition period. From the end of 2022, it will be fully operated under Kempinski Hotel Cancun.

The beachfront hotel in Mexico offers 315 guestrooms and 48 suites, all with private balconies or terraces with a panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea. It also has eight culinary options as well as a club lounge. Guests can avail themselves of the two swimming pools and an oceanfront whirlpool, or the spa with gardens and terraces, a fitness center with a sauna and steam rooms, a tennis center, and a beauty salon. The 1,300-foot-stretch of beach is lined with lounges as private cabanas. And, for families, there is a children's club.

Good to know: The hotel offers ample indoor and outdoor meeting and event spaces. Be it the 11,220-square-foot ballroom, which can be divided into meeting rooms, boardrooms, breakout spaces and outdoor venues by the pool or a beachfront venue for up to 700 people, there are several options to choose from and customize.

Located in Cancun’s hotel zone, the property is 25 minutes from Cancun International Airport and from downtown Cancun. Shopping centers such as the Kukulcán Plaza or the La Isla Shopping Village are within walking distance. The ancient Mayan city of Tulum is within 90 minutes, while the archeological site of Chichen Itza is a two-and-a-half-hour drive away. The Isla Mujeres can be reached within approximately one hour.
